Havana Theme Dinner

We really wanted to do something different and unique for our client, Gleneagles Kota Kinabalu with the keywords “fresh, vibrant and spectacular” on our minds. The event had to also be fun and exciting!

To achieve this, we looked to some of our favourite things that truly spark our passions. We love the Mardi Gras with its explosion of energy, pure soul and passion; The Mambo Kings for its romance and nostalgia; Cuban street dancers for their powerful music; and beautiful Spanish architecture. It was only natural that we chose to design a Havana-themed event.

It will be no easy feat to take our guests on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. In our attempt to achieve this, we strived to provide first-class entertainment to give our client and their guests. We kicked off the night with a Street Carnival Parade with live percussionists making a grand entrance! The second part of the Act involved a 10-piece live band playing sensuous mambo and bossa nova music. Finally, we capped the night by transforming the venue from vintage cuban lounge into an ultra-modern MTV Havana-style club and raised the bar by pulling live band, dancers and singer into a single explosive closing act to the tune of Havana by Camilio Cabello! What a night to remember!

• Customised dance act “Ran Kan Kan” inspired by The Mambo Kings featuring Sarah Durai, Champion of Astro Mari Menari 2011 and choreographer/ actor Ray Redzuan

• Customised closing act: Cover of Camilio Cabello’s “Havana”  with live band and performers

• On-site Floor management

• Event styling consistent with Havana theme featuring rustic yet modern tropical flower table centrepiece
